SSP America Celebrates Opening of Local, Culinary All-Star Shōjō at BOS

Shōjō brings modern spins on Asian cuisine, with inventive cocktails and Japanese spirits

SSP America, a division of SSP Group, a leading operator of food and beverage brands in travel locations worldwide, has opened the multi award-winning Shōjō at Boston International Airport’s (BOS) Terminal C. Shōjō is the first of three locally owned restaurants SSP is slated to open at the gateway over the next year. Temazcal Tequila Cantina will open in spring 2019, and Boston’s very own Tasty Burger is set to open in 2020.

Founded in 2012 by cousins Brian and Brendan Moy, Shōjō serves up modern spins on Asian cuisine, with a drink selection as fresh as the food and a Japanese spirit list unrivaled in the city. With a focus on small sharable plates, diners are encouraged to try a range of items, tapas style. The menu changes seasonally to incorporate the best ingredients available. Favorites include The Shojonator™ with smoked bacon and kimcheese on a steamed bun, Duck Fat Hand-Cut Fries and Monkey Wings. Highlights also include Shōjō’s Sake selection, as well as a wide choice of specialty craft drinks and Tiki-style cocktails.

Shōjō has received local as well as national accolades, including Boston Magazine’s “Best Chinatown Restaurant,” Time Out Magazine’s “Top 10 Best Ramen in America,” and Eater’s “38 Essential Boston restaurants.”

Designed specifically to delight and attract passengers from the concourse with its theatrical display kitchen and center stage bar, Shōjō will also offer varying service styles to meet every passenger’s needs—from bar service to chef-prepared counter service to carryout, there’s a speed and a style that meets every traveler’s timeframe.
