SSP America Named Greenest Airport Contractor For Second Consecutive Year

SSP America has been named the Greenest Airport Contractor by the Green Restaurant Association (GRA) for the second consecutive year. More than 200 of our restaurants across 16 airports have earned GRA’s prestigious Certified Green Restaurant® sustainability certification. These restaurants meet GRA’s rigorous standards across eight environmental categories: energy, water, waste, reusables and disposables, chemicals and pollution, food, building and furnishing, and education and transparency.
We are committed to sustainability, environmental protection, and social responsibility, and plan to have all locations GRA certified by the end of 2025. Our Certified Green Restaurants® can be found at:

Our global sustainability strategy embraces the food service industry’s best practices and aligns with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, including zero hunger, responsible consumption and production, good health and well-being, and climate action. - 2025 Target: 100% of contracted suppliers signed onto our Supplier Code of Conduct. Progress: 100%
- 2025 Target: 100% of our own brand coffee, tea, and hot chocolate from certified sustainable sources. Progress: 68%
- 2025 Target: 100% of our own brand fish and seafood from certified sustainable sources. Progress: 93%
- Annual Target: 100% of our top 50 brand products made with certified palm oil or palm-oil-free. Progress: 100%
- Farm Animal Welfare
- 2025 Target: 100% of our own brand eggs from cage-free sources. Progress: 78%
- Operational Emissions Reduction
- 2032 Target: 60% reduction of absolute Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas emissions (from 2019 base year). Progress: 22%
- Sustainable Packaging
- 2025 Target: 100% of our own brand packaging free of unnecessary single-use plastic. Progress: 97%
- 2025 Target: 100% of our own brand packaging recyclable, reusable, or compostable. Progress: 100%
- Food Waste Reduction
- 2025 Target: 100% of our central kitchens to compost all food waste. Progress: 100%
- 2025 Target: 100% of our own brand units divert waste cooking oil for recycling. Progress: 99%
